Black Butterfly Ammunition Premium, 45-70 Government, 600 gr, 5 Rounds, D600, SUBSONIC "CRAZY HORSE"
This round is intended for all subsonic applications, self defense and Hog Hunting. This round is an exclusive Black Butterfly Ammunition product developed in conjunction with Hawk Bullets. This bullet was made to function at subsonic speeds. This projectile has a softened jacket and tip to start expansion. It really shines when it makes contact with something hard like a hog shoulder.
Unlike most projectiles used in the .45/70 GOVT these projectiles are made specifically for the subsonic hunting applications. This means that copper jacket is softened to allow for easier tip expansion and the lead used is almost pure, without metal alloys added to make it harder. This is purposely done to allow for increased expansion on contact with large animals at close range.
When you get your ammo, you may notice the tips are not uniform. Don’t panic, it is totally normal for the tip of this projectile to have some sort of distortion and or deformed hollow point from batch to batch. The reason for this is that they are made with extremely pure lead which is very soft. Even dropping them on the ground or lightly tapping them will deform the tip. The process of pressing in the hollow point, seating the bullets, sorting, packaging and shipping them sometimes distorts the soft lead tips.
This has absolutely ZERO effect whatsoever on the operation of the round, accuracy or ballistic coefficient.
This round is not designed to be pretty. It’s designed to drop the energy of 600 grains of lead into a annimal’s head or shoulder at approximately 950 FPS AMV.
About Crazy Horse:
Crazy Horse (Lakota: Tȟašúŋke Witkó[2] [tˣaˈʃʊ̃kɛ witˈkɔ], lit. 'His-Horse-Is-Crazy'; c. 1840 – September 5, 1877)[3] was a Lakota war leader of the Oglala band in the 19th century. He took up arms against the United States federal government to fight against encroachment by White American settlers on Native American territory and to preserve the traditional way of life of the Lakota people. His participation in several famous battles of the Black Hills War on the northern Great Plains, among them the Fetterman Fight in 1866, in which he acted as a decoy, and the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, in which he led a war party to victory, earned him great respect from both his enemies and his own people.Crazy Horse (Lakota: Tȟašúŋke Witkó[2] [tˣaˈʃʊ̃kɛ witˈkɔ], lit.
